Etton is s village at the southern end of the Yorkshire Wolds and about five
miles north-west of Beverley, the historic East Yorkshire town. Gail White's
book outlines in a very readable way the history of the village, from the
settlements in the Bronze Age till very recent years. A good selection of
photographs and pictures, both colour and black-and-white, together with
illuminating extracts from historical documents give a vivid picture of life
in the village through the ages. Hutton Press has once again produced a
well-presented local-interest book (sixty pages) that will be an attractive
and an informative addition to the library of anyone interested in East
Yorkshire life.
